Census Data Breakdown

Located on New Jersey's southeastern coast, Atlantic County boasts a very diverse economic mix from tourism-based businesses to agriculture to technology. The eastern portion of the county borders the Atlantic Ocean and its economy is largely tourism-based with the driving force being hotel-casinos. Meanwhile, agriculture remains an important part of the mix in the western half of the county.

Atlantic County is home to the Federal Aviation Administration William J. Hughes Technical Center, which accounts for a large number of engineering and technology jobs. While the gaming industry itself employs about 45,000 people, it is indirectly responsible for a majority of the county's non-casino employment growth. New development projects, including the anticipated continued expansion of the gaming and retail industries, indicate that significant economic growth is around the corner. This momentum will no doubt lead to an increased demand for experienced and skilled professionals and laborers.
